"Be Kind. Don't Judge. Don't Take more than you need"

Pennies From Angels

Faith, Love and Hope is Everywhere

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “See a penny, pick it up. All day long you’ll have good luck.” Then you often hear, only pick it up if it is on heads. If it is on tails, you are supposed to leave it where it is because it would bring bad luck.

There was a story about a wealthy man who would always pick up any coins he would see on the ground. His friends were always curious but never asked about it. One day, a co-worker finally asked him why he always picked up coins he saw. It was well known that he had everything he needed. The man pulled a penny from his pocket and asked the co-worker what was the most important words stamped into the copper penny? The co-worker stood silent, looking so confused. Nothing on the penny mentioned anything related to “luck”. The older man smiled and said, “The most important words on any coin are “In God We Trust”. He said the coins remind him to be grateful for all he has accomplished.

That story stayed with me. It was not long at all when I found my first coin with “new eyes”. I picked up the penny from the asphalt at the post office parking lot. I had been having a rough day. I rubbed the penny between my fingers. I then heard the words, “Have faith, everything is going to be okay.” I knew then and there that whenever I find a coin it is a reminder for me to have faith, to trust my path, and to know I will have all I need. I began finding coins in the strangest of places. A penny on the side of a road that no one ever parked on. A penny in the bathroom of a doctor’s office.

My most amazing find still leaves me in complete awe. I was having to make a frustrating repair to a light switch at home. I needed to make a run to Home Depot to pick up a new one. I was feeling so rushed, but I do not remember why now. I changed clothes, grabbed my shoes, and off I went. As I scurried down the middle aisle of the store, I kept feeling something in my shoe. It wasn’t a stone or anything like that. It kept sliding around in my shoe. I pulled off my shoe to look. Yep, you guessed it. It was a penny! I had no earthly idea how it got there. Well, yes, I do know. An angel tossed it in there when I wasn’t looking.

We are given reminders in so many ways to help us to keep faith in what we do. We all have angels and guardians watching over us. They are ready and willing to help us in all ways. All we need to do is ask them to help us, then watch for the penny on the ground.
